Coral reefs are the most diverse marine ecosystems. Often called the rainforest of the sea, these organisms consist of about 2,500 different species and serve as sources of shelter and essential nutrients for marine food chains. Unforunately, the increasing temperatures due to global warming, the increase in oceanic acidification, and the careless behaviors of recreational divers are just a few factors contributing to the possible extinction of coral reefs.

This exhibit uses this subject matter to inform and shift behavior through interactive design. Each colored card includes everyday actions that are harmful to the reefs. For each action the user is guilty of doing, they must turn it over to the white side and learn about how that action effects coral bleaching. At the end of the exhibit, a majority of the reef turned out white.
