Mislabeled Races

This is an installation which uses quotes of racial micro-aggressions experienced first hand by people whom I know personally, that are spray painted onto flags and hung up on flag stands I made. These quotes are meant to confront those who vocalize these micro-aggressions/deem them to be "funny" so that they can realize that what they're saying is disrespectful. The flag stands were placed at Boston University's Marsh Plaza, because it is the center of campus and houses the 'Free at Last' statue, dedicated to Martin Luther King, Jr., a civil rights leader who worked for racial equality.
